The italians have spent 2,400+ years perfecting fashion, food, style and living down to the minutest of details.

Hi Espresso,

Yes, it was hard for me to believe, too! Maybe the cleaning lady was on vacation.

Hello Meg,

Yes, I agree with you and I doubt that the government could afford to restore the place to its original condition. But, certain places have vibes, vibrazioni, and I felt that here, particularly at some of the water features, restoration felt the right thing to do.Homebody at Hearthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09239296629489677377noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7810563905303685755.post-85466860830132047822008-03-12T19:57:00.000-07:002008-03-12T19:57:00.000-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Homebody at Hearthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09239296629489677377noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7810563905303685755.post-84735269446842028782008-03-11T20:32:00.000-07:002008-03-11T20:32:00.000-07:00It's a beautiful place, isn't it? I'm torn on further restoration- it would be sort of cool, but a great deal of restoration is often (albeit educated) guesswork... which often leaves me in the position of wanting to keep it from decaying further. The mosaic does have a quilt-like quality.Meghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12795753563127975720noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7810563905303685755.post-83188250053283153262008-03-11T03:55:00.000-07:002008-03-11T03:55:00.000-07:00Gorgeous photos--love those patterns on the floor....Gorgeous photos--love those patterns on the floor.
